The Mecynorhina torquata, better known as the Mecynorhina beetle, is a beautiful insect belonging to the Scarabaeidae family. This beetle is known for its striking green colour and impressive size, making it a popular object for collectors and insect enthusiasts.
A fun fact about the Mecynorhina beetle is that it plays an important role in the practice of taxidermy, whereby animals are mounted and preserved for educational or decorative purposes. This technique, also known as taxidermy, ensures that the beauty of the beetle is preserved, even after it has died.
The Mecynorhina beetle is a fascinating animal that is admired for its unique appearance and interesting behaviour. With its glossy green shell and imposing size, it is a valuable addition to any collection of taxidermy insects.
